Welcome to Sylvan Harbor!

Sylvan Harbor is a family oriented and operated RV park that also offers cabin lodging, tent camping and amenities for the sea angler. Situated within the rugged beauty of California’s northern coast, the property has provided a seasonal refuge and lasting memories for many campers, travelers, and fishermen since the late 1940s. The park has remained in the family since 1967 and is currently owned and operated by Sean and Lindsey Thomas and their five children.

Located one mile north of the small town of Trinidad, Sylvan Harbor is a short drive, bike ride, or walk from local restaurants and shopping, rivers, beaches, and national and state parks. Many of our guests stay the entire summer to take advantage of the mild coastal climate and bounty of nearby recreation and tourist opportunities such as: fishing out of Trinidad Harbor, combing the local beaches, hiking the redwood groves, wildlife viewing, local farmers markets and artisan shops, and fine dining.

The RV Park, though it is open to all campers and travelers year-round, caters primarily to fisherman in the summer months through fish cleaning facilities and smokers. The property is lined with redwood, cedar, spruce and alder trees on its perimeter and provides an open, bright environment. There are 70 full-hookup RV sites and 8 tent sites, which can also accommodate primitive RV camping. Our cabins are rustic, cozy, and clean. Despite being surrounded by RV campers in the summer months they are remarkably quiet and peaceful. However, if you prefer the aesthetic of a cabin in the woods, we do recommend finding other lodging.

Thank you for considering Sylvan Harbor for your camping and lodging needs in the Trinidad area. It would be a pleasure to serve you!

About the Owners:

From the late 1960s the Manka family nurtured an atmosphere of tranquility and camaraderie at Sylvan Harbor that remains to this day. Lindsey Thomas (formerly Manka) and her husband Sean bought the property in 2015. Along with their precious children: Anya, Dai, Seren, Seppy and Raelynn they work to maintain the same welcoming and God-honoring service that the Manka family perfected. When Lindsey isn’t homeschooling her children, and serving as a pregnancy ultrasound nurse she loves helping Sean and taking long walks or runs in the beauty of nature. Sean cherishes time in the outdoors, especially with his family, when he gets time away from operating the park and cabins, and maintaining and restoring the property and facilities.
