Campground Policies
Sylvan Harbor is home to as many as 200 people during the summer months and an extra measure of courtesy goes a long way to making the camp atmosphere enjoyable and memorable for everyone. With this in mind we urge you to follow our park policies. Thanks for choosing to stay here and happy camping! Stays
- Guests must check in at the office upon arrival/before going to your site
- Seasonal stays will not exceed 6 months
- Tent stays will not exceed 14 days
- Site rent is due in advance for all stay lengths
- Invoices are generally available by the 5th of each month, and due within a week
Camp Etiquette
- Quiet hours are 9pm to 9am
- Please clean up after yourself thoroughly at all park facilities (e.g. restrooms, laundry, fish cleaning areas, trash/recycle shed, sites)
- Always keep a tidy and presentable camp
- No tarps should cover RVs (inquire about exceptions)
- No fires are allowed in RV sites (propane fire pits are allowed)
- Please extinguish fires completely when leaving tent sites
- Please do not walk through others’ sites without permission
- Guests may walk only in developed public areas (roads and paths) of the park (e.g. do not walk through the front yard of the house/residence)
- Limit of 2 platforms/site
- Limit of 1 picnic table/site
- Construction of any kind must be pre-approved
- Please do not prune vegetation without approval
- Please enjoy the dahlia garden, but do not pick the flowers
- No smoking is allowed inside or within 100 feet of park facilities and other RVs
- No drug use
Children
- Young children (6 and under) should be supervised at all times
- Children are not allowed to play in the creek and forest in the back of park
- Climbing on rocks, trees, trunks, stumps, roofs, structures is not allowed
- Please do not pick raspberries, strawberries or blueberries
Vehicles
- Speed limit is 5 mph
- Maximum 2 vehicles/site (park only in your assigned spot)
- Maximum 1 boat + trailer/site (park only in designated areas of the field)
- Do not park on/drive over green septic tank covers
- Please obtain approval before washing boats or RVs (water can be limited)
- Do not park in vacant sites without permission
- Bicycling is allowed only on roads and within the speed limit (e.g. do not ride through the front yard of the office/residence)
Pets
- New or additional pets must be approved
- Pets must always be on a leash and under control when outside your RV
- Please pick up after your pet every time
- Do not allow your dog to bark excessively
- Please bag all pet waste and dispose of it in trash/recycling shed or pet stations
Waste
- Please use the trash/recycle shed at the end of the main road to dispose of all normal household trash and recycling
- Do not place trash or recycling in the dumpsters
- Disposal of all hazardous waste and oversized material is the guests’ responsibility (examples: BBQs, furniture, hoses, appliances, electronics, propane bottles, light bulbs, oil, fuel, paint, pesticides, etc. Please take these and similar items to: Humboldt Sanitation 2565 Central Ave, McKinleyville, 707-839-3285)
- Never flush non-biodegradable, solid, or foreign objects down RV sewer drains or public restrooms (e.g. paper towels, tampons, solid food, grease, metal, plastic)
Fish Cleaning
- Use only designated fish cleaning tables to clean fish and crab.
- Please place all fish and crab remains in green buckets and seal with lid
- Never dump fish or crab remains down sewers or drains
Helpful Information
- Mail may be sent to guests at this address and is available at the office mailboxes (sorted into boxes by first letter of last name)
- Quarters are available at the office
Wi-Fi ID
- “SHarbor” and there is no password (beware this is an open network)
- TV service is available through 3rd party providers at your own cost
Note: In the unfortunate case that a guest is observed violating one of the policies a warning may be issued. The guest then has 7 days to demonstrate compliance. If additional violations occur after this period the guest can be asked to leave. This is in accordance with California RV park occupancy law.
Refund Policy
- All cancellations must be made by calling the office at 707-677-9988.
